*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Azergues River, located in the Rhône-Alpes region of France, flows through the department of Rhône and is a tributary of the Saône. Its water temperature varies with the seasons. During the summer months, the temperature can reach between 18°C and 22°C (64°F to 72°F), making it suitable for swimming, especially in calmer sections of the river. In winter, however, the water temperature can drop to around 5°C to 8°C (41°F to 46°F), making swimming less desirable. The water temperature also tends to fluctuate due to the river’s proximity to higher altitudes, with cold mountain streams feeding into it.
Swimming in the Azergues River is possible in certain areas, particularly in its calmer stretches and rural sections, where the flow is more gentle. However, the presence of natural obstacles like rocks, rapid currents, and potential pollution in some parts of the river means that swimmers need to be cautious and aware of the water conditions. While not as popular as larger rivers like the Rhône, the Azergues offers more peaceful, natural settings for those who enjoy outdoor activities. As with any river, it is important to check local water quality reports and weather conditions before swimming.
