*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

The Arros River flows through the Hautes-Pyrénées and Gers departments in southwestern France. As a tributary of the Adour, it travels through a range of landscapes, contributing to varying water temperatures along its course. Typically, the water temperatures in the Arros range from around 7-12°C (45-54°F) in winter to about 15-20°C (59-68°F) in summer, with the highest temperatures occurring in July and August. These warmer months provide more comfortable conditions for activities like wading and quick swims.
Swimming in the Arros is possible in certain deeper sections, especially during the summer when water levels are lower and temperatures are higher. However, as with many rivers in this region, the depth and flow rate can vary, especially after heavy rainfall. While some areas offer good conditions for short swims or a refreshing dip, the river is more commonly enjoyed for fishing, picnicking, and scenic walks along its banks. Those looking for more dedicated swimming areas might find nearby lakes or larger rivers a better option, though the Arros still provides a peaceful spot for relaxation and cooling off.
