*** Forecast - Our water temperature forecast
Actual nearshore water temperatures may fluctuate by several degrees from the reported values, especially following heavy rainfall or extended periods of strong winds. Certain wind patterns can cause colder, deeper waters to rise and replace the sun-warmed surface water, leading to noticeable variations.
Our forecast is based on a proprietary mathematical model that considers real-time water temperature changes, historical trends, key weather patterns, wind strength and direction, and air temperature specific to each region. Additionally, we incorporate data from other resorts to enhance accuracy.

Location & Local Information
Praia do Lago (Moura) is a freshwater bathing spot on the reservoir in the municipality of Moura, Beja District. Because it is an inland lake rather than the sea, water temperatures vary noticeably with the seasons. In winter the surface water commonly sits around 10–14 °C (50–57 °F), rising through spring to roughly 14–20 °C (57–68 °F). The warmest conditions occur in midsummer, when temperatures typically reach about 22–26 °C (72–79 °F), and early autumn usually brings a slow cooling to roughly 18–22 °C (64–72 °F). These figures are approximate and can change with weather patterns, water level and depth.
Swimming is generally permitted in designated areas of Praia do Lago, especially during the warmer months, but access and supervision depend on local rules. In summer, authorities often mark safe bathing zones and may provide lifeguards, while outside the peak season supervision is less likely. Restrictions can be imposed for safety reasons such as poor water quality, algal blooms, low visibility, strong winds or boat traffic, so visitors should follow on-site signage and any recommendations from local officials before entering the water.
