Plougastel-Daoulas, located on the Élorn River in Brittany, is known for its unique coastal environment as the river nears the Atlantic Ocean. The river water temperature around Plougastel-Daoulas is generally cool, as it’s influenced by the tides and maritime climate. In the summer, the water temperature can reach approximately 15–18°C (59–64°F), making it possible but somewhat brisk for swimming. In winter, the river water can drop to 7–10°C (45–50°F), making swimming less advisable due to the cold.
