Lorient, situated in Brittany on the Blavet River, is close to where the river flows into the Atlantic Ocean, giving it unique coastal and riverine characteristics. Due to this proximity, the Blavet’s water temperature in Lorient is influenced by both river and sea temperatures, which means it remains cool throughout the year.
