Lake Onega is a lake in the north-west of the European part of the Russian Federation, the second largest freshwater body of water in Europe after Lake Ladoga. In spring and summer, the lowest temperatures are recorded over the central part of Lake Onega, but in the fall, on the contrary, there are the highest air temperatures. The climate can be characterized as transitional, from continental to sea.
